Social with a Purpose – The Alzheimer Society’s Fall Fundraiser

The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District has rebranded the traditional fall fundraiser the Coffee Break®, to Social with a Purpose.

The Coffee Break fundraiser has recently evolved into more than sharing a cup of coffee and making a donation for the coffee that is consumed on coffee break day. Participating hosts were very creative and rebranded the name to Social with a Purpose!

The launch of Social with a Purpose will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, to coincide with World Alzheimer’s Month, and Social with a Purpose fundraiser is hosted virtually and can be held anytime, and for any length of time that is convenient to you.

HOW TO REGISTER:

Visit on.alz.to/socialwithapurpose to register online and you will receive your unique donation link to share through your social media and email accounts with your family, friends, and co-workers.

You also have the option of sending out a link to your very own Zoom party. Once you register for Social with a Purpose you will have access to links to incorporate into your Zoom party like a Paint Night, Sing-a-long, and Cooking Nights.

The power of coming together virtually and hosting a Social with a Purpose will provide those living with dementia and their care partners much needed social programming and other services such as family support, education, and recreation therapy.

The local Alzheimer Society needs to fundraise over $400,000.00 a year to provide these services which have been adapted and have continued throughout Covid-19.
