The price of homes sold in the area was up while the number of homes sold was down according to the Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate Board gauging activity in its area which covers as far east as Spanish and north to Wawa.
For the first six months of the year, the average selling price was just under 199-thousand dollars—that’s up 10.8% compared to the same period a year ago.
There were just over 700 homes sold which is down 9.2%.
For the month of June alone, there were over 200 units sold which is up almost 7% compared to June of 2019 and the average price came in at a record level at over 210-thousand dollars—-up 11.8% from June of a year ago.
The dollar value of all homes sold in June was 43.9-million dollars—up 19.3% from the same month in 2019.
It marked the largest dollar value for homes sold for any month in the Board’s history.
