City council was told at last night’s meeting that there has been some limited reopening of city services and facilities which is guided by provincial orders in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
City CAO Malcolm White says the Bellevue Marina is now open but not the Bondar Marina at this time.
Also now open are the tennis courts, pump track, skateboard park, off leash dog area and disc golf.
White says further openings will take place at the end of this week involving ball diamonds and soccer fields.
He stressed that will only be for casual use only with no team games and you will still need to observe physical distancing unless involving a family unit that live together.
The City has also recalled some laid off part time and casual employees with the reopenings and some employees that had been redeployed have been returned to their regular work.
Also some staff that have been working remotely are being returned to the work place and summer student employment is underway but at a reduced level.
