City council will be asked at tonight’s meeting to approve a new agreement between our City and Prince Township for the provision of policing services.
Over the past year, policing services have been provided by our city police department by way of an extension of the former contract which was approved by both councils in December of 2018.
A report to council expalins that there are no incremental costs to the Police Services by providing policing to the Township.
The revenue received which amounts to 175-thousand dollars in year one, is therefore net revenue and would have to be paid by City taxpayers if there was no agreement.
