I know some of us had a road trip to Nashville all planned this summer, but plans may change! BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t crank up the country, have a few beers, and do some line dancing at home!

You can can even make their famous Nashville Hot Chicken

Now, if you haven’t tasted this spicy dream, you’re in for a treat!

Here’s What You’ll Need!

1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces, tossed with 1 tablespoon kosher salt, and refrigerated overnight.

The Marinade:

1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup pickle brine
2 tablespoon Louisiana-style hot sauce
1 large egg

The Flour:

2 cups AP flour
2 teaspoons fine table salt or 4 teaspoons kosher salt

The Sauce:

1/4 cup lard
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Here’s How To Make It!

Drench your chicken pieces in the marinade then coat in flour

Heat oil to 350 F. and maintain temp of 325 F. during frying. Cook the chicken to at least 160 internal temp.

While the chicken cooks, in a sauce pan, add all the ingredients to make THE SAUCE!

Once the chicken is done, take it out of the fryer and place on a rack.

Serve with sauce on or off!
