Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2019 11 14) – Celebrate the season with friends and family at the Downtown Association’s Moonlight Magic event and the lighting of the community tree. Join Mayor Provenzano and the Downtown Association on Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m. in front of the courthouse.

Moonlight Magic officially kicks off the festive season. Beginning at 6 p.m. enjoy live holiday music, free hot chocolate courtesy of Tim Hortons and visit with Santa. Free s’mores and hand warming stations will be on Queen Street as well as spiked cider and ice bar stations. Guests can participate in the annual hot chocolate competition, ice carving demonstrations and ice games. Downtown merchants will be open until 11 p.m. for late night shopping and deals. In the spirit of the season, guests are encouraged to bring donations for the Sault Transit Stuff-A-Bus for Christmas Cheer.

Motorists are reminded that Queen Street from Pim Street to Dennis Street will be closed on Thursday November 21 beginning at 3 p.m. for the event but cross roads going north and south will be open.

A special thank you to the City’s Public Works and Engineering Services staff, the Downtown Association and all the sponsors recognized on the donor tree who have helped to make the annual tree lighting possible. We hope to see you there.

Caroling at Tree Lighting
Supplied…
Soo Sings for Kids executive members and participants will be singing their hearts out well before show time on May 13, 2020.
On Thursday, November 21, 2019 we will be caroling near the March Street Stage. Even Santa Claus will be taking in the performance. The big guy in red will be available for photos following the tree lighting ceremony at the stage.
We want to invite everyone to come and see us, sing a carol or two and learn more about the Soo Sings for Kids event and how we support local children’s charities.
Thank you to the Downtown Association for allowing us to spread holiday cheer through song during their Moonlight Magic event. It’s going to be a lot of fun and we can’t wait to see you all there.
Happy Caroling and Happy Holidays from Soo Sings for Kids.
