Pedals for Possibilities for the United Way kicked into high gear today as local campaign chair Sonny Spina began his cycling venture covering 283 kilometres in 2 days.
Spina began the journey cycling in Wawa this morning starting out around 4 o’clock.
Later he will be driven to the Canadian Carver on highway 17 at Batchewana Bay and will cycle into Sault Ste. Marie and should arrive mid-afternoon.
Following the Sault stop Sonny will cycle to Echo Bay and be driven to Elliot Lake to cycle within that community building up kilometres.
His goal is to raise 283-thousand dollars and as of early this morning, 89-thousand had been raised or 31% of the goal.
