I was strolling to the Station Mall……feeling somewhat guilty as my neighbours to the South in Texas, were dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey..
The devastation and real time news on CNN, was almost too horrible to watch, but watch I did.
I must say I shed some tears as I watched a nursing home filling with water with no way out for the residents.
But now, there is social media. Facebook was going to have them rescued.
Personal heroes would bring boats to the areas outside Houston, where roads were rivers.
Just this morning, a young man who had walked 12 miles overnight to get to his hometown to find no family or friends to call. Cell did not work.
CNN producers got him to a Satellite phone and reached his father.
The young man now had a place to take the bus. His father would be waiting, ………as I gulped for air,
this gentleman whom had lost everything, said three little words that made me so grateful to be living here in the Soo,
“I love you dad!..
You see, there is real humanity out there folks!
We have nothing to bitch about………..
