Canada 150 Atlantic to Pacific Drumming Celebration
A countrywide drumming event celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation and the success of Canadian multiculturalism. All Canadians are invited to participate in this once-in-a-life-time experience. Canada Day at Canada Place
This year’s celebration will be a two-day event to commemorate 150 years of Confederation. Highlights include five performance stages featuring Sam Roberts, Fefe Dobson, Emerson Drive, Hey Ocean!, Dragonette, Madeline Merlo and The Matinee; plus a multi-community fireworks show (July 1), a pancake breakfast (July 2) and the Canada150 parade through downtown Vancouver (July 2).

City of Burnaby: Canada Day 2017 with Steven Page
The City of Burnaby hosts a free Canada Day concert and fireworks display to mark Canada’s 150th birthday. Canada 150 Parade
Floats, marching bands and more! Presented as part of Canada Place’s Canada 150 celebrations, the parade is part of a two-day series of events celebrating Canada’s 150th. Canada Day 2017 on Granville Island

Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day
Recognizing Canada’s 150th anniversary, there will be a special focus on Canadian music this year, including the Soundtrack Canada tribute to Canadian singers and songwriters and a Canadian-themed battle of the bands headlining act featuring Off the Record and The Ticket. Audience members will vote for their favourite, and both bands will lead the singing of O Canada before the fireworks finale. Canada Day – Fort Langley

Richmond Canada Day
The City of Richmond is hosting the ultimate birthday party in celebration of Canada’s 150th year of Confederation. The brand new Richmond Canada Day in Steveston presented by YVR will feature a free, full-day street party throughout Steveston Village along side the Steveston Salmon Festival. Canada Day at the Peak of Vancouver
Wear your red, wave the Canadian flag with pride, and enjoy all of the festivities the mountain has to offer. North Shore Canada Day Parade Everyone seems ready for a party and this year’s parade will be better and bigger than usual. Canada 150 Evening Event: North Vancouver A special Canada 150 event hosted by the Rotary Club of Lions Gate featuring a free concert in the park. Chilliwack Canada Day 150 Start your morning with a delicious pancake breakfast at the Evergreen Hall, followed by lots of family-friendly activities at Townsend Park including crafts, bouncy castles and a ride-on train. In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, Port Moody is organizing a special Canada Day celebration. Spend the day at beautiful Rocky Point Park, hang out with Recreation staff playing games and winning prizes, join in a community art project with one of the community partners and try your hand at ring toss and mini-golf. Re-discover Vancouver as Indigenous land. New Indigenous artist-created murals and other 2-D artworks are appearing around Vancouver this summer. Chosen by a selection panel, works will contemplate the city, its defining features, and their relationship to significant cultural sites. • July 1-31

Canada 150+: Gathering of Canoes
Witness a traditional landing of the Pulling Together Canoe Journey. During a 10-day journey along traditional highways from the Sunshine Coast to the City of Vancouver, up to 30 canoes—with First Nations, Public Service Agencies and youth paddlers—will request permission to land on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Canada 150+: Drum is Calling Festival
Part of the City of Vancouver’s Canada 150+ celebrations, this nine day event is a festival of Indigenous and diverse arts and culture. Headliners include the iconic Buffy Sainte-Marie, PowWowStep creator DJ Shub, singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk, literary giant Tomson Highway, and spoken word poet and musician Shane Koyczan. Indigenous Fashion Week

The Canada 150+: Walk for Reconciliation Join tens of thousands of Vancouverites in this second-ever Reconciliation walk. Inspired by Chief Dr. Robert Joseph, O.B.C., the walk was originally conceived as a healing tool among Indigenous peoples and all Canadians, in light of the legacy of Indian residential schools. Steveston Salmon Festival
“Canada’s Biggest Little Birthday Party Since 1945.” Celebrate our nation’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation with a pancake breakfast, followed by the kids bike parade at 9:30 a.m. then the big Canada Day Parade at 10 a.m. The festival kicks off at noon and includes an Opening Ceremony, Japanese cultural show, a trade show, horticultural show, children and youth festival, demonstrations, a food fair and artisan gallery, an inflatable carnival and midway, and a food truck festival which will operate for two days (July 1 and 2).
