United Steelworkers Local 9548 representing over 400 workers at Tenaris Algoma Tubes have reached a tentative deal with the company on a new contract.
Information meetings for the members are scheduled for today at 9am, 4pm and 8 pm at the Quattro Hotel and Conference Centre and voting on the proposed deal will take place from 10am until 10 pm.
A further day of voting will also take place tomorrow from 8am until 8pm at the union office on Dennis Street.
The current contract expires at the end of the month and the union’s negotiating committee is recommending acceptance.
There are 415 workers that are apart of the Local—-300 were recalled and 115 of them are new hires since January.
