news-mayor provenzano     The mayors of each of the 5 largest communities in Northern Ontario met in North Bay yesterday.  Sault Mayor Christian Provenzano says the key issues discussed were energy prices, funding for infrastructure and Fednor funding.  He says the funding that FEDNOR is providing is less than the amount that municipalities in Atlantic Canada get from the economic development agency out east.

One issue seemed to take precedence over all the others — energy prices.   The mayors are calling on the Ministry of Energy to pay immediate attention to the issue.   Sault Ste Marie Mayor Christian Provenzano says it’s a big concern.

They also talked about funding for infrastructure projects, the Ring of Fire and FEDNOR funding.
The mayors meet twice a year and the next meeting will be held in Sault Ste. Marie in November.
