Today, the results of the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey were released province-wide. Overall, the results show that Sault College remains one of the top two Colleges in Ontario in student satisfaction. Sault College has either been first or second overall for the past 5 years.
¡§Northern Ontario is home to the top two Colleges in all of Ontario, and we are very proud to be recognized by our students as a high achieving institution, second only to College Boreal. When students research where to get a post-secondary education we know that they consider these key performance indicators. We are celebrating our outstanding results and I¡¦m thrilled that I can say that we remain a top College in all of Ontario. It¡¦s extremely important to measure how our students view our delivery and once again they are giving us high marks. We want students from all across Canada and around the world to know that when it comes to getting an education in Ontario they should say yes to the best!¡¨ says Dr. Ron Common, College President.
In the surveyed categories the Sault scored very highly!
85.4% student satisfaction rate
95.5% employer satisfaction rate
86.4% graduate satisfaction rate
85.9% apprenticeship student satisfaction rate
Our faculty and staff should be commended for making this happen. Whether students are in the classroom or one of our great service areas they are saying exactly what our strategic plan set as a goal ¡V It was worth it to come here! This is an accomplishment that we all take pride in here at the College,¡¨ says Colin Kirkwood, Vice-President Academics and Research.
Employers Satisfied
“For well over four decades Sault College has been producing quality employees for Essar Steel Algoma. We have benefited from nearly every program the College has to offer and they are the lead training partner in our apprenticeship program. As Northern Ontario’s second largest employer I can say that we have several hundred Sault College alumni employed at Algoma. From business to trades, the graduates of the College continue to make positive contributions to our workplace and we look forward to accepting future graduates as positions become available¨, says Jim Rennie Vice-President Human Resources, Essar Steel Algoma
Since 1998, the provincial KPIs have been gathered annually by independent research firms for the colleges and for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The most recent data were collected from March 2015 to February 2016.
