City police and fire crews were called to the Gros Cap marina yesterday to investigate a boat fire.  After launching his boat, the owner attempted to start it and it became engulfed in flames.  The boat was destroyed.  There were no injuries and the fire is not considered suspicious.

A 28 year old Sault woman was arrested after police investigated a shoplifting incident at Rome’s on Great Northern Road.  Amanda Neyland was charged with theft under 5 thousand dollars and assault with the intent to resist.  It is alleged the accused stole some items and when approached by store security she resisted an attempt to arrest her. She will be appearing in court next month.

A 58 year old Sault resident was arrested on an outstanding domestic related warrant.  It is alledged that between April 2011 and July 2105, the accused criminally harassed his ex-common law spouse.  He has also been charged with mischief to property under 5 thousand dollars in relation to an incident from June of this year.

A 16-year old female was arrested and charged with Mischief to Property under 5 thousand dollars after police responded to a call to a Grace Street residence concerning an out of control young person.
