Dr. Gordon Edwards of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility will be in White River tonight and will move on to Pic Mobert tomorrow night to speak with residents about their interest in hosting Canada’s only deep geological nuclear repository.  It’s something still being considered despite the recent announcement to bury nuclear materials near Kincardine.   Edwards says the material planned for burial near Lake Huron is much less toxic than the materials planned for the north.  Here’s the full interview we had with him this morning…

My apologies for using the word “barrels” instead of “drums” when talking about nuclear waste stored underground at Carlsbad New Mexico.  The wastes are in fact stored in steel drums.
