Get your running gear out, your bike tuned, and get in the pool, because the St. Joseph Island Triathlon is back! Now in its 12th year, Northern Ontario’s premier triathlon event will take place in beautiful Richard’s Landing on St. Joseph Island on August 15th, 2015.

As always, the committee is looking at ways to improve the event, but the races will continue as before, with Olympic, Sprint, and Try-a-Tri distances for adult triathletes, and International and Sprint distance duathlon events. Olympic, International, and Sprint races will all accommodate relay team entries as well. Also back are the ever popular Kids of Steel races, with age groupings from 14-15 all the way down to 3 & Under. It is important to note that the swim portions of the KOS races for ages 11 and under do not require swimmers to navigate water that is over their heads, so anyone can participate, regardless of their swimming ability. The 3 & Under race is always the most enjoyable for the spectators, and it’s free to enter. You’ll be amazed at what your little ones can achieve!

As always, the race could not happen without the help of the many volunteers who graciously give of their time to setup the courses, hand out water, and do the many other jobs the event requires. Anyone interested in helping out should email race@stjosephislandtriathlon.com

Registration is available online at www.stjosephislandtriathlon.com. Why wait?
