FloodingThe following is from the Ministry of the Natural Resources:

Sault Ste. Marie District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement – Flood Outlook is in effect in the District. Residents of the Sault Ste. Marie District should keep a close watch on water conditions, regularly check for updated messages and stay away from fast-moving rivers and streams. Residents within the Goulais River Watershed are advised that although the ice went out on the river over the weekend, and ice jams are no longer a concern, the risk of flooding remains high as there is still a large amount of snow remaining in the watershed which could lead to flood conditions.

MNRF is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Further updates will be issued as appropriate.
