SSMPSThe following is a message from the Sault Police Service:

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind motorists to slow down and adjust your driving to the road conditions.

Even though the calendar says it is spring, the snow out there is saying otherwise.

Motorists have enjoyed some dry roads in the last few weeks but that changed today.

There are three key elements to driving safe in the winter and they are

-Stay alert
-Slow down
-Stay in control

When the roads are wet and snow covered make sure you slow down. Speeds too fast for road conditions are the #1 cause of winter crashes.

Leave more space between vehicles and allow for at least double the stopping distance compared to normal dry roads.

We want everyone to arrive at their destination collision free.
