The sunshine list for the City of Sault Ste. Marie continues to grow as the full list is included in city council’s agenda for Monday’s meeting.  The list has grown by 50 to 174 and the report to council explains that the significant increase can be attributed to an additional pay period in 2014—-something that happens with the calendar approximately every 11-years. Looking back over a five year period, the list has grown from 75 in 2010.  Of the 174 in 2014, 28 are city employees, 40 are fire fighters and 106 are police employees.  At the top of the list is the soon to be retiring CAO Joe Fratesi who’s salary went up 5.9% to over 202-thousand dollars.  Former Fire Chief Marcel Provenzano saw his 2014 salary increase 5.8% to over 167-thousand dollars.  Chief Provenzano retired at the end of January.  Former Police Chief Bob Davies who retired during 2014 made over 188-thousand dollars while new Police Chief Robert Keetch is listed at over 104-thousand dollars.
