Chilly today. High temp to only 15. Here’s what I penned this morning, Friday June 1st, 2018. On Facebook.

Yes it’s my new summer hair cut….but there is a story here.
I’m taking a page from my friend forever, Kevin Frankish, broadcasting this morning Friday June 1st, his last official day as a BT co-host. Yesterday I visited my ‘new’ doctor to renew some skin cream. In my past, I was such a ‘sun worshipper’. I t was what you did. You hopped in the family vehicle and the folks took me and my two sisters to the Sunshine State of Florida for March Break. You got as tanned up as you could. This is Cancer Awareness Month and we have our ‘Relay for Life’ coming up, which I am so blessed to MC and Jam with buddies in tents during the event at the John Rhodes, Queen E field on Friday June 15th.

SO, long story short, I have battled and won against some bad cells on myself. The cream I applied, called ‘EFUDEX,’ worked it’s magic and rid me of the Basal Cell Carcinoma. Often referred to as ‘pre cancerous cells ‘,or lesions.
I have done regular maintenance when I saw, or felt new spots and told Lyd, my wife I need to cut off a lot of the hair to do this deal, properly. So this is why I have a new summer doo this morning.

Go see your doctor if you suspect any abnormalities with your skin. Please wear a hat and apply a good sunscreen. It may not affect you ever, but later in life, it just may show up on your body. Check all over not just on your nose. Make it a fun time and have your partner look in all places. Areas you may not be able to view with your own eye.
I can never stress this enough , to live each day like it’s your last. I lost two very close male buddies whom I talk to to, in spirit everyday. Both of them lost battles with this dreaded Cancer.

I guess my advice is be proactive and if you suspect something is not right, trust your gut and get it looked at.

Join us June 15th for Relay For Life and share YOUR reason for walking!
