City council gave its approval last night to commit 20-thousand dollars in funds to cover the costs for a Sault Summit planned for April of next year.
The event would involve reconnecting with former Saultites and seeking their input and strategic advice on the implementation of the community development plan.
Sault Ste. Marie has experienced a significant out-migration of talented alumni over the past decades.
The initiative wouldn’t involve new money as the funding would come from a budget already established to implement the community development plan and would allow for website development for the summit and event expenses.
