Shaw TV SSM will be running workshops on Film & TV production at the Digital Creator
space located in the Sault Ste. Marie Centennial Library (50 East Street). These
workshops are FREE and TEEN-only (ages 12 – 19). Two workshops each month will
run from December, January and February.
Industry professionals Zoe Sanguinetti and Christian Lemay of Shaw TV will be sharing
insight and expertise from the film and television industry. Through a series of
workshops covering a range of topics, Shaw TV + Digital Creator will provide tools and
mentorship to local teens interested in film, TV and video. Topics covered include
camera work, introduction to editing, shooting styles and composition, export settings,
media management, audio recording and much more. Workshops will be hands-on and
participants will create content that they can use in demo reels, applications to film
school, portfolios, youtube channels, film festivals or to air on local tv.
The first workshop on camera work takes place Wednesday, December 13 from 5 PM
to 8:30 PM. Participants will learn the basics of camera work including planning shoots
for editing, camera movement techniques, shooting styles and more.
The second workshop, Intro to Video Editing takes place Monday, December 18 from
5 PM to 8:30 PM. In this workshop participants will learn basics audio correction,
colour correction, importing footage and more. Participants are encouraged to bring
their own video footage to edit or use demo footage provided.
All equipment and some light snacks will be provided.
Participants are welcome to bringing their own equipment (such as cameras) as well.
