City councillors Lou Turco and fellow ward 4 councillor Rick Niro received a green light to have some improvements made immediately to two problem intersections in their ward.
Councillor Turco was looking to have traffic lights put back in place at the intersections of Albert Street and Andrew Street and the nearby Albert Street and Gore Street.
City Director of Public Works Susan Hamilton Beach told the councillors that the changes made to the intersections have only been in place for a year and to fairly assess traffic data for the intersection to warrant putting the traffic lights back in place, three years of data would be needed.
Councillor Niro wanted at least some safety improvements made to the intersections and Beach agreed to immediately put in place improvements which could be enlarged stop signs or warning lights on the stop signs.
