Former long-time city councillor Frank Manzo has died after a long illness.
Manzo who was the longest serving elected official passed away last night surrounded by friends.
His last term on city council representing ward 6 ended in 2014 after 38-years.
Manzo served as a city councillor into his 80’s and was first elected in 1969.
He ran unsuccessfully for mayor in ’97 and returned to council to represent ward 6 after winning a by-election in 2001.
Frank was certainly outspoken and was quite vocal in pushing to ensure the residents of Ward 6 got its fair share of services.
His daughter posted an announcement on Facebook this morning.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
