SaultMISault, Michigan City Commissioners will be asked on Monday to approve a resolution for a charitable gaming licence.  The licence would be from the Michigan Lottery for the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  The local group would be recognized as a non-profit organization in order to obtain that licence.  The licence would allow the auxiliary to have events such as quilt raffles and other regulated fundraisers.

The Commission will also be asked to approve a contract regarding construction on Ashmun Street.  This particular request will deal with the construction engineering services for the utilities portion of the Ashmun Street Streetscape project.  A recommendation is being made to approve an agreement with U-P Engineers and Architects for just over 75 thosuand dollars for engineering services for the utilities portion of that project.  The Michigan Department of Transportation will perform the construction engineering services on the road and streetscape portions of the project.  MDOT had been in the process of executing the construction contract with Elmer’s Crane and Dozer, with construction scheduled to start next week.
